The queer theory reading group is a collection of people from differing backgrounds and positions: graduate and undergraduate students, the academic and the non-academic, the disciplinary minded and those who work best outside of any formal boundaries, straights, gays, lesbians, transgendered, transsexual, bisexual and at times even queers. For more than five years we have been meeting regularly to discuss works ranging from foundational theorists like Judith Butler and Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, to the queer anthropology of Esther Newton and the musings of sex radical Pat Califia. We remain among the first and few such groups - our meetings are (always) open to all.
