At
the outset of Spring 2003, Robin Nuzum, Nishant Shahani, and Harun
Karim Thomas formed a pedagogy discussion
group to create a platform for new and experienced Teaching
Assistants and any interested parties to engage with their pedagogical
practices and raise any form of practical and theoretical concerns
related to the classroom context.
While we
have often been encouraged to privilege our own academic concerns
over teaching responsibilities, we feel that there are more useful
ways in which this academic vs. pedagogic divide could be negotiated.
