Susan Miller is the author of several books, including Textual Carnivals: The Politics of Composition, which won the Modern Language Associations Mina P. Shaughnessy Prize, The Conference on College Composition and Communications Outstanding Book Award, and The Association of Teachers of Advanced Compositions W. Ross Winterowd Award. She is also the author of Rescuing the Subject: A Critical Introduction to Rhetoric and the Writer; Assuming the Position: Commonplace Writing; and numerous scholarly articles in journals including College English, Journal of Advanced Composition, and College Composition and Communication. Her work in composition studies and feminist studies has been landmark in the development of Rhetoric and Composition as a discipline.
