• Each year, UF-EGO holds an interdisciplinary conference here in Gainesville Florida. It is a two-day event with a keynote speaker and visiting scholars from around the country.

    2010
    From Here to There and Back Again: Allusion, Adaptation and Appropriation will be held 21-22 October 2010. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Douglas Lanier.

    2009
    Home/sickness: Desire, Decay, and the Seduction of Nostalgia will be held 12-13 November, 2009. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Dominick LaCapra.

    2008
    Cultural Currency and Literary Exchange: Cultivating Texts as Commodity will be held 6-7 November, 2007. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Susan Rosenbaum.

    2007
    As I Imagine: Fantasy, Identity, Politics was held 18-19 October, 2007. The keynote speakers were Dr. Beverly Lyon Clark and Dr. Carl Freedman.

    2006
    Contours of Captivity: Resignifying Expressions of Power was held from 2-3 November 2006. The keynote speaker was Marianne Hirsch.

    2005
    Theory * Activism * Creativity: Navigating Textual Politics was held from 27-29 October, 2005. The keynote speaker was Judith "Jack" Halberstam.

    2004
    Constellations of Youth: Intersecting Adults' and Children's Culture was held from 21-23 October, 2004. Keynote speakers included Michael Moon and Jim Provenzano.

    2003
    Insatiable Crises: Producing Obsessions, Evils, and Traumas was held from 3-5 April, 2003.

    2002
    Theoretical Misfits: An Interdisciplinary Conference was held from 4-6 April, 2002.

    2001
    Souths, Global and Local: an Interdisciplinary Conference was EGO at UF's first interdisciplinary conference. It was held 5-7 April, 2001.
